Amanda Cy takes the folk-pop framework and opens it toward something a little more atmospheric. "Yangtze" is sparse and deliberate, her voice the primary instrument over a minimal acoustic arrangement that lets the lyric carry the weight. The river as metaphor isn't new, but the execution earns it.
