By the time "Cobra" arrived on Geese's fourth album Getting Killed , the Brooklyn band led by Cameron Winter had already spent several years proving they were the most interesting indie rock act of their generation. Getting Killed was released in September 2025 and immediately called a modern classic in multiple quarters. The SNL performance, the Tiny Desk, the Cillian Murphy endorsement: Geesemania had taken hold of something real. "Cobra" is the track people reached for first when explaining what the album does. The line "Baby, let me wash your feet forever" sounds absurd in isolation and devastating in context, which is the kind of songwriting Cameron Winter has always been capable of and is now fully delivering on. It is a love song and something more uncomfortable than a love song at once. Geese started as very young musicians in Brooklyn making ambitious rock records, and Getting Killed is the version of what they always seemed to be building toward. "Cobra" is proof that they got there.
