Visiting Hours

"Visiting Hours" was released on Valentine's Day 2025, which is either ironic or perfectly calculated, depending on how you read the title. Visiting hours are what you get when you are not allowed to be somewhere freely: a limited window, a time-constrained presence, a relationship with a fence around it. Lihtz has always written about constraint and what it does to people, and this track is a pointed version of that theme. The release as a standalone single, separate from the larger 2025 project work, suggests it was ready before the rest: a statement that needed its own space rather than context. Lihtz understands pacing in his catalog in a way that some of his peers do not. He knows when something stands alone. His West Philly origins and the difficult childhood he has described in interviews are not separate from what the music is doing. "Visiting Hours" is about access and limits, which are themes he has earned the right to write about.
