Maverick Sabre has always written from the margins, and Lonely People is no exception. The Dublin-via-London singer builds the track on a sparse piano loop and minimal percussion, letting the lyric do the work. His baritone has a weathered quality that makes the subject matter land without melodrama. This is one of the stronger cuts from his catalog.
